How to make fried plantains
-
Wash and cut the plantain into pieces that are 1/2 inch thick. Remove the plantain peel from all of the pieces.
-
In a frying pan, fill the bottom with 1 inch of Canola oil and turn the burner on medium. Wait until the oil starts to have tiny bubbles.
-
Using kitchen tongs, begin to place your plantain pieces into the oil, be careful, it's very hot! Let them cook for a couple minutes and then flip them over.
-
When they are a crispy light golden brown, remove them from the oil and place them onto a paper towel in order to soak up the remaining oil.
-
Let plantains cool off and then enjoy! For a little extra flavor, sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
